The Judgment Evidence Assessment
A scoped, fixed fee assessment that shows where one real, AI assisted decision stands against the Judgment Assurance standard, in two to four weeks.
What It IsThe Judgment Evidence Assessment (JEA) is not consulting, and it is not a JA pilot. It is an independent assessment: does sufficient evidence exist today to show that a human exercised, and could later explain, real judgment on one specific, consequential decision, measured against the Judgment Assurance standard. It tells you where you stand. It does not design or build anything for you.It is scoped in advance for a fixed fee, so the cost and the endpoint are both known before the engagement begins. Why This, Why NowRegulators, courts, and standard setters are converging on the same question from different directions: not whether an organization used AI in a consequential decision, but whether a human exercised, and can later explain, real judgment when it mattered.Organizations are increasingly expected to understand and be able to explain how consequential AI assisted decisions are made. In many situations, the absence of any documented evaluation of those decisions becomes part of the scrutiny itself.Organizations that already describe themselves as having a "human in the loop" or a "responsible AI" program face the highest scrutiny, because the claim itself creates the expectation of evidence. The JEA tells you, on one real workflow, whether that evidence currently exists. How It Works: Two to Four WeeksPhase 1: Scope & Discovery
Separate conversations with leadership and frontline staff. Identify the one decision workflow where AI reliance would be hardest to explain if challenged.Phase 2: Consequentiality Mapping
Identify where human judgment enters the workflow, what's actually at stake, and who would have to explain or defend the decision if challenged.Phase 3: Assessment
Evidentiary gap analysis against the Judgment Assurance standard, and a current state maturity assessment using JAMM-PS.Phase 4: Report
The Judgment Evidence Assessment Report is delivered: findings, the evidentiary gap analysis, and the maturity score. Next steps only if you want them. What You GetThe Judgment Evidence Assessment Report, documenting current state findings on the workflow assessed, including the specific evidentiary gaps against the Judgment Assurance standard.A current state maturity read using JAMM-PS, an objective baseline, not a recommendation. No obligation. The JEA stands alone. If it identifies a gap you want to close, that's a separate, later conversation, not something designed or built inside this engagement.Who It's ForOrganizations with a consequential, AI-assisted decision, who want to know whether the judgment behind it could be explained if it were ever questioned. Also well suited as a due diligence or underwriting tool that brokers and carriers can put in front of insureds ahead of renewal. How It's DifferentThe JEA overlays existing workflows. It does not ask anyone to change how they work in order to be assessed. It starts with people, not systems. Frontline conversations, held separately from leadership, are treated as ground truth about how a decision actually gets made. One workflow. Two to four weeks. Fixed fee. A current state assessment of the evidence you have today, not a design for what comes next.
